About Allan J. Sayle
Allan J. Sayle began his management services
business in 1983 and has served many industries all over the world on
business improvement matters.
His seminal work includes the ”Process Approach”
to quality programs and auditing, which he developed in the 1970s, and which
is now the de facto foundation of modern quality programs and
management auditing – worldwide – and clearly visible in the
latest version of the international quality standard, ISO 9001, and its
various offshoot standards, such as TS 16949. Every management audit training
course, standard and auditor has been influenced by or used his methods, as
have organizations’ Six Sigma and similar business improvement programs.
Allan Sayle has also been acknowledged as a pioneer of Value-Added Audits,
which he prefers to call Value Assessments.
He has had many articles and several books
published.
Management Audits,
first written in 1978 and now in its third edition, is
recognized by experts and users worldwide as the “definitive” and “classic”
text for such matters. From that first edition onwards, its content formed
the substantial basis part of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) CQA
program's original "Body of Knowledge". Upon release, every edition
has received immediate acclaim from respected experts and authorities. A 1991
book, Meeting ISO 9000 in a TQM world, became a second edition
in October 1994 dealing with the (then) updated editions of the entire ISO
9000 family of standards. That book is now deleted but was internationally
regarded as “essential reading” and “an indispensable guide” for implementing
both ISO 9000 and similar requirements. The second edition was produced as a
result of worldwide requests from enthusiastic readers.
All editions of those books detailed Allan
Sayle’s “Task Element” or “Process Approach” to quality programs presaging
the adoption of that approach years later by ISO 9001:2000 and the quality
profession in general.
Considered a
foremost authority on quality management matters, he has delivered keynote
addresses and speeches to a range of professional organizations around the
world. His seminars on management auditing, value improvement and value
assessments are regularly oversubscribed.
