I wanted to thank you for a wonderful seminar this week.  It was terrific to be immersed in the many aspects of assessment that you have developed over the years.  I intend to share the information you handed out to many of my team members and management here. I think there is a lot of valuable information to share with them.  I'll pass around a few copies of your CDs. As I said at the beginning, I had the choice of going to a seminar put on by [a well known competitor], or going to yours.  I chose yours because I thought I could actually learn a lot more practical information that would help me migrate towards a much more robust and value-added auditing program.  I'm convinced that I have chosen well on this one. Again, thanks for a great seminar and best wishes.”

Mike Harkins, Dell Inc. May 2006

"I did enjoy the seminar.  I felt like individuals that are in small corporations/companies with much authority in the quality arena would have more opportunity to receive a value from the information they learned.  I did like the specific "audit" suggestions you gave on taking apart each process by interviewing the individual responsible for that process and asking them where do they get their information, etc.  I plan to use that.  I liked the idea of the approach you are giving to looking less at ISO and more at what makes good business sense.”

V. Butler, BJ Services May 2006

“I thought the seminar was well presented and contained several thought provoking ideas. The one I found the most interesting was tying the audit process into your continuous improvement effort. The audit identifies problem areas which are then analyzed to determine their relative costs. You can then prioritize your corrective action activities to get the biggest bang for the buck. Most companies perform audits because ISO/API require them.....but they don't typically identify the real cost of the problem so they know what really needs to be worked on. All in all a good seminar.”

Will Black, Weatherford International. May 2006

“I've been meaning to get back to you since the seminar to tell you how impressed I was with your presentation!  As you mentioned below, [my manager who also attended] has already started to use some of the concepts you presented in proposals he has made to our upper level management.  I was particularly struck by your discussions regarding reductions in avoidable costs, and tools you suggested to determine where savings might be found. Finally, I was really impressed by the method of presentation; your Powerpoint slides. It was one of the best business Powerpoint presentations I've seen.  Most use "effects" that detract from rather than add to the impact of a business presentation. Regards, and thanks for a useful seminar!”

Tim Wilkin, MI Swaco May 2006

“Hi Allan, I thought you put together a very well informed seminar, with quite a bit of valuable information. Your experience and knowledge shows and was quite beneficial. Myself preparing to take my CQA in June, … the seminar will definitely help steer our company into a great direction in addition to some of the other Quality initiatives we are trying to implement. Many thanks for taking the time to visit with us and sharing your thoughts and ideas.”

Chris Agner National Oilwell Varco, May 2006

“I like your style and attitude of "just the facts", holds more water and less hot air. The examples you used were very helpful.  They helped me to internalize and retain the message.  I highly recommend your course, thank you.”

Anonymous comments provided by delegates to the ASQ organizers of May 2006 Seminar in Houston:

v “Great organization of an assignment model to help those doing their work. Good tips and good understanding of management technique and quality improvement principles. Very well done”.

v “So much material to absorb.”

v “Course was excellent. Allan Sayle has given me a different perspective of auditing/ assessments.”

v “Great course! Gave me a lot to think about specifically about the focus on revenue and $s [avoidable costs] the real things that are important to management that are generally lacking from most off our audits.”

v      “Superb class. Migration from ‘business as usual’ to the new methodology and a proven plan to do.”

"Your in-house training seminar provided excellent insight into how we can more effectively manage our auditing program. The participants, both experienced and inexperienced auditors, found the program to be very informative. Your expert knowledge and guidance on how to get to the root cause of a problem, how to make sure the audit loop is closed, and using our own examples of audit reports and corrective action, made the training session very beneficial. We look forward to continuing to work with you as we improve our audit program and add value to the work we do."

Karen Smith, QA Manager, Institute for Transfusion Medicine Feb 2006.

"Still nothing but glowing reviews here. I've already seen strong evidence of a newly energized department in a meeting this morning. [Our Vice President]  was heavily influenced by the class. We're carrying your full approach to her as our audit plan."

R. McHone, R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. October 2005

"The plan is to definitely bring your course on board as a staple course for our management and audit team as well as project/program managers."

John Gray, US Air Force, May 2005

"Thank you so very much for your wonderful audit training seminar. Best in class as always."

Mark Kempf,

Chairman Quality Audit Division, ASQ, March 2005

"I was struggling with ways to audit our more “mature” quality systems and provide them with information that takes them to the next level - I got several ideas for that throughout your course. I’d been considering pushing for our companies that are not audited frequently to perform self assessments and your point of view gave me more confidence to do that. I’m still planning on using your 12 Golden Rules in my internal auditor newsletter but will, of course, give you credit. Thanks again,"
